Second day at Blackcomb Mountain

Another great day on the slopes. It was quite warm today. It felt like it was in the 50s when the sun was out. We got a late start so we headed to the top right away. The rest of the boarders wanted to stick to easier runs so I decided to join the expert skiers for much of the day again today.

We ran our favorite Jersey Cream run several times throughout the day. Paul then convinced us to check out the Crystal chair lift to visit a part of the mountain he had not been to. We enjoyed those runs but unfortunately they ended up in some long catwalks. Those just aren't any fun on a snowboard. Even the skiers were complaining.

We ran into Lily, Melanie and Larry late in the morning and we all decided to break for lunch early. After a long break Lily and I decided we were just too tired to go on. Lily especially was afraid to repeat her experience in Park City last year. We got on the lift and worked our way all the way down by ourselves. I ran into a closed run due to bare patches and had to re-route a little but eventually we made it back to the condo only to find that some of the other guys had also called it a day and even beat us back to the Marriott.

Melanie and Larry decided to stay on the mountain till the very end. They took the very last gondola up to the top then very slowly worked their way down an empty mountain. Melanie was thrilled that she was finally getting the hang of the board and made it down a tricky blue run without falling or resorting to coming down on an edge. Larry just wanted to get the most of his only day on the mountain.
