Around Paris

After spending two weeks in Egypt we were looking forward to a relaxing couple days in Paris. We had the option of returning through any city in Europe but we picked Paris because: 1) we had never been there before and 2) we were going to be there over Valentine's Day.

We chose to stay at a small boutique Best Western hotel near the Louvre Museum. It was a block from the nearest Metro station, about 2 blocks from the Louvre and just a few blocks from Notre Dame. The nearest Metro station happened to be called Pyramides, what are the odds?

One of the things we wanted to see was the obelisk that used to stand at Luxor Temple. It was also nearby, not far from the Louvre in Place de la Concorde (Concord Plaza).
