Butterfly Farm, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands

We thought this would be easy and appealing to the kids. It's at the Havensigh Shopping Mall a short walk from the cruise ship dock. What we didn't know is that it was rather pricey for the size of the place.

There is a netted garden behind the building holding the butterflies. It's not very big, much smaller than the indoor Butterfly Room at the Nature Museum in Chicago. It started by having an employee give a tour of the facility and give an educational presentation about the butterflies, their life cycles and showing up some caterpillars. Our favorite was the cacoon room where you can see various species of butterflies coming out of their cacoons. We were also amazed by the variety in color and shape of the cacoons as well.

It was ok, but seemd kind of pricey for the quality of the experience.
